As spring arrives, Japan is bathed in shades of pink. Cherry blossoms have long been cherished as a national symbol, and the tradition of hanami, or flower viewing, has been celebrated for over a thousand years.
April, in particular, marks the peak of the cherry blossom season, with full blooms painting the landscape and lifting spirits.
